OVITA (Ohio Valley Interactive Technology Alliance) is now the official name for the Department of Labor funded WIRED (Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development) initiative in Appalachian Ohio.

WHAT IS OVITA?
The Ohio Valley Information Technology Alliance is a coalition of community stakeholders with an interest in transforming the economy of the Appalachian region of Ohio for success in the 21st century.  We believe that our people are our greatest asset and that a creative and academically prepared workforce will support the investment needed build upon our current assets and position the region as a center of excellence and innovation in the field of Interactive Digital Technology.  OVITA was awarded a three-year, five million dollar Workforce Innovation in Economic Development (WIRED) grant by the U.S. Department of Labor in 2007 to effect the transformation of the regional economy.
