By creating a network of Cyber Centers and Cyber Clubs throughout the region hosted by our University partners and informed by the needs of business and economic development, we will:
- Expand the pipeline of secondary students with the preparation needed to enter and successfully complete 2 and 4-yr programs in interactive digital technology
- Train area teachers to apply interactive technology to improve classroom outcomes
- Work with university partners to provide support for the creation of interactive digital media products arising from research grants already being received by the universities.
- Connect current degree students to internships with regional businesses
- Assist non-IDT businesses in our region with projects intended to make them more profitable by utilizing emerging technology to reduce costs, become more efficient and reach new markets. These business centered projects will have the added benefit of producing a trained workforce with real-life practical experiences, critical for success in a highly competitive labor market.
From on-line business simulations, to virtual worlds for effective low-cost training, the interactive digital worker trained in the Ohio Valley will be a master of rapidly developing immersive technologies that will form the foundation of the communication, knowledge, education, and experience industries of the future.
