The Ohio Valley has significant current assets for the training and preparation of a highly-skilled interactive digital technology workforce.  Currently, those students completing these programs often leave Ohio to find high-paying jobs in California, North Carolina and other areas of the Country making our region a net exporter of talent.  At the same time the quality of life and work/life/balance offered by the Appalachian region, coupled with significantly lower costs to secure space and operate a business could make this region increasingly attractive to outside investors.  Ohio’s strategic initiative to expand broadband access throughout the region further assists the transformation of the region to support industries for which connectivity rather than proximity is a critical factor for success.
